NASI GORENG PASTE
The Nasi Goreng Paste is the core of many Balinese/Indonesian meals. In addition to being the core ingredient for the Nasi Goreng/Mie Goreng (Fried Rice/Fried Noodle) dishes, the Nasi Goreng Paste is used also to “spice” up the Curry Pastes to the desired taste.
Also with many bakar/goreng (grilled/fried) dishes the Nasi Goreng Paste is used as a sauce/sambal on the side.
The paste contains a very small amount of concentrated shrimp (small prawn) paste – known as terasi in Indonesia.
