Mie Goreng / Balinese Fried Noodle

Serves: 1 person
Preparation time: 15 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 plate of Hokkei/egg noodle
  • 1 tsp of Bali In A Jar Chilli Paste
  • 1 tsp of vegetable oil
  • A handful of chopped choy sum
  • A handful of chopped plain cabbage
  • A handful of cooked pork/chicken/beef/prawns
  • 2 tsp of "ABC" Kecap Manis - Indonesian thick sweet soy sauce
  • 1 tsp of soy sauce
  • 1 fried egg
  • 2 slices of cucumber (optional for garnish)

Cooking Method:

  1. Blanch noodles in boiling water for 1 minute and drain.
  2. Heat oil in a wok on high temperature and add your favourite cooked sliced beef/chicken/pork or prawns. Add the Bali In A Jar Chilli Paste and vegetables. Keep cooking on high until vegetables soften.
  3. Add the blanched noodles and stir through. Add kecap manis and soy sauce whist continuing to stir. Cook until the noodles are cooked whilst making sure to flip the contents over and over in the wok to prevent sticking.

Serve your mie goreng topped with fried egg and cucumber slice garnish.
